Hey, this one feels like a really strong step-up opportunity.
We’re working with a modern, design-led DTC brand that’s investing heavily in creative this year, and they’re looking for someone who sits in that sweet spot between high-level execution and emerging leadership.
If you’re a Senior Designer or Art Director who’s started to guide freelancers, own projects more independently, and wants to take that next step into a more official leadership role, this is exactly that.
Why this is interesting
- You’re not just executing, you’re owning creative across channels
- You’ll have real influence on how the brand shows up across marketing
- You’ll start directing freelancers and shaping output, without being thrown into heavy people management
- There’s a clear path to step into a true ACD-level role if it’s a fit
It’s a lean team, so your work will be visible and impactful right away.
What you’d actually be doing
- Designing and leading creative across paid social, email, web, and digital campaigns
- Owning projects end-to-end, not just being handed pieces
- Working with a small group of freelancers (2–5) and helping guide their work
- Partnering closely with marketing to bring campaigns to life
- Supporting creative direction on shoots (photo/video) as that side continues to grow
It’s a strong mix of hands-on design as the majority of the role, along with light direction and ownership.
The kind of background that works well here
- Experience working with DTC, CPG, or modern consumer brands
- A clean, elevated design aesthetic, similar to brands like Seed, AG1, Alo, etc.
- Someone who has been the go-to designer on projects and is starting to take the lead
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments with a high volume of output
- Has worked with freelancers before, even if informally
Structure
- 3-month contract-to-hire
- Full-time hours (40/week, PST overlap)
- Fully remote
Comp (on conversion)
Quick note
This isn’t a role where you’re managing a big team or sitting in meetings all day. It’s for someone who still loves being in the work, but wants more ownership, more say, and a path to leadership.
